About me

Since I was about seven years old, I knew I wanted to be a teacher.  I loved playing school with neighborhood friends. Putting those star stickers on papers was so much fun!  The endless hours playing on the chalkboard with different colored chalk still lingers in my memory.

I started my career teaching at the elementary level.  I taught fourth grade and also was a literacy interventionist.  The last fourteen years I have taught at the middle school level. I’ve taught all five core subjects – reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. I currently am a literacy interventionist for grades six, seven, and eight.  The best and most integral part of my job is scaffolding students with questions and strategies. This is really getting at the heart of strategic reading and thinking. I am looking forward to sharing some of my ideas and reading activities with you.
